About me & this site

Hello. My name’s Timothy Phillips. I started writing this blog about twentieth-century archives and history while I was researching a book about Russian espionage in Britain in the 1920s.  I was finding so much fascinating material and could not accommodate it all in the book. I decided to create somewhere to share it.

I grew up in Northern Ireland and now live in London. If you want to contact me about my writing, my agent is Veronique Baxter at David Higham Associates. You can buy my first book, about the Caucasus and the Beslan School Siege, here. My second book will be published by Granta in 2017. It will be called, The Secret Twenties: British Intelligence, The Russians and The Jazz Age.

Welcome to Cabinet Room!
